Lady Bugs
Ladybugs (Hippodamia Convergens) feed on many soft bodied insects with aphids being their main food source. Our "Ladies" are crawl cleaned meaning we ship only live ladybugs that have crawled away from mulch (pine needles, leaves, dirt), and any other matter. Ladybugs will not feed on any vegetation. The ladybug's worst enemies are the chemicals that make up poisonous sprays. Ladybugs can be stored in the refrigerators for a short time or release them in the morning or evening, avoiding the heat of the mid day. For ladybugs to mature and reproduce, they need a nectar and pollen source, such as flowering plants, legumes, peas, beans, clover, and alfalfa. They will naturalize if chemical sprays are eliminated. DO NOT FREEZE. Ship live Mon -Wed.
